Vikrant Mohanty

This is Dr. Vikrant Mohanty, a passionate dental public health specialist with focus on community based dental interventions, health system strengthening and health policy development. Currently working as Professor and Head of Department in the Department of Public Health Dentistry at Maulana Azad Institute of Dental Sciences, New Delhi under Govt. of NCT of Delhi. I joined this Institute as a Senior Resident in 2009, since then been working ardently in development of the Department. The Department has grown from a small section to fully established department with a post graduate program and creation of the first Mobile Dental Clinic Project in India with six fully functional Mobile Clinics and Tobacco Cessation Clinic. I completed Bachelors in Dental Surgery in 2002 and Masters in Public Health Dentistry in 2006 under RGUHS, Bengaluru. Completed Post graduate Diploma in Medical Law and Ethics from National Law School India University and Masters in Business Administration in Healthcare Administration from Delhi University in 2014. I was awarded an IGTC Scholarship to complete the Global Tobacco Control Certificate Program at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health (JHSPH). Additionally, I am ​​also working as the Project Head, National Resource Center for Oral Health and Tobacco Cessation under the MOHFW, GoI, Chairperson, Institutional Scientific Committee, Medical Officer In-charge, Mobile Dental Clinic Project and Nodal Officer, COVID-19. My first experience in Medical Education was training received from NTTC, Puducherry in 2004 followed by other training programs. I have received MCI approved AETCOM training at the Medical Education Department, MAMC. I have believed in lifelong learning and tried innovative teaching methodologies by engaging students by providing different learning experiences. Through FAIMER I intend to develop a clearer path through guidance and teamwork to research, implement and evaluate medical education methodologies in dentistry.

Shilpa Patrick

I am Dr. Shilpa Patrick working as Professor in the department of Pharmacology, Teerthanker Mahaveer Medical College & Research centre, Moradabad, U.P. I have completed my MBBS and MD from Christian Medical College Ludhiana. I got the opportunity to attend my first MCI Basic workshop from CMCL and since then I have attended Revised Basic Course workshop & AETCOM at TMMC & RC, CBME workshop at CMCL followed by workshop on Curriculum Implementation Support Program at TMU Moradabad. I believe in continuous learning and whatever I have learned from medical education workshops over the past few years, I have tried to implement that at our institute. During my journey as an undergraduate medical educator I have learned that implementing innovative teaching learning methods develops interest, improves knowledge and skills among students. I am actively involved in research projects and academic activities of my department. My passion for teaching has grown over the years and getting into FAIMER (CMCL) will give me an opportunity to learn and explore more in the field of medical education.

Supriya J Kulkarni

I am Dr. Supriya Kulkarni. presently working as Associate Professor in the department of Materia Medica at KLE Homoeopathic medical college, Belagavi,  Karnataka. I have done my BHMS and MD (Homoeopathy) in Materia Medica from A.M.Shaikh Homoeopathic Medical College. I have been teaching in a medical college for the last 11 years in the subject of Materia Medica. I have a keen interest in medical education and I sincerely believe that I am a lifelong learner. I am closely involved in academic and research activities related to undergraduate training. I am a coordinator for a research committee, I have two publications and two paper presentations till date. I am a co- investigator in integrated research with KLE Ayurveda on Non- Communicable disease. I have presented my research at an international conference. I have attended various workshops on medical education which created awareness and interest in me for the same. It’s a privilege to be a part of the CMCL- FAIMER fellowship which will enhance my knowledge. I look forward to an interactive learning process in the next two years.


Rohin Garg

I am currently working as Associate Professor, Department of Anatomy, All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Rajkot, Gujarat, India. I am a medical graduate from SP Medical College, Bikaner and did MS (Anatomy) from SMS Medical College, Jaipur. Got opportunity to attend ‘Revised Basic Course Workshop in Medical Education’ at Himalayan Institute of Medical Sciences, Dehradun. Since then, I have conducted and attended many workshops, seminars, CMEs and conferences on medical education and learned something new each time. I have completed some medical education related courses like SDL in Medical education; Curriculum implementation and Basic course in health research methods through National Institute of Epidemiology-ICMR, Chennai. I am also Editor in chief of International Journal of Medical Research Professionals- An indexed, multidisciplinary, peer-reviewed, open-access, international medical research journal. I have life memberships of American Association for Anatomy, Anatomical Society of India, Society of Clinical Anatomists, Indian Society of Human Genetics and Indian Academy of Biomedical Sciences. I have had significant experience in teaching students with different social, economic, and linguistic backgrounds. Such experiences impart me not to adherent with a particular teaching methodology as teaching is itself a continual learning process. I am looking forward to a lifelong association with FAIMER and with so many of efficient faculty across the world. From the fellowship, I wish to learn the depths of medical education and research and groom my leadership skills. I felt the need to do FAIMER Fellowship for becoming good facilitator while conducting teaching sessions and improvising professional skills. FAIMER Fellowship will facilitate me to interact with like – minded people thus promoting information sharing. FAIMER will empower me with requisite knowledge to expand Health Professions Education and successfully accomplish the goal of community development.

Rohit Sunny Mathew

I am Dr. Rohit Sunny Mathew, currently working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Prosthodontics, Christian Dental College, Ludhiana. I completed my undergraduate course from Christian dental college, Ludhiana in 2013. After which I worked for two years in the Department of Community Dentistry, Christian Dental College, Ludhiana. During this period I was instrumental in setting up of the Dental Department in General Hospital Bilga, Punjab, an outreach hospital of CMC hospital and also in organising various dental camps at various far flung places of Punjab. I also had the opportunity to serve in a rural mission hospital in Chhatarpur, Madhya Pradesh which was indeed a humbling experience. I did my specialisation in Prosthodontics and obtained my M.D.S. degree from Christian Dental College, Ludhiana in 2019. Ever since joining my alma mater, I have been closely involved in mentoring and teaching both undergraduates and post graduates. I have also been awarded best faculty poster in IPS Punjab state branch e poster competition. I have published articles in various indexed national journals I have organized a clinically oriented CDE program for both the faculty and post graduates at the institutional level. With CMCL-FAIMER fellowship I hope to further my knowledge and improve myself in medical education and research. Other than academics, I love travelling and am an avid reader.

Ranjit Guha

Presently I am working as Principal, Dean (Students’ Welfare) and Professor of Anatomy at Indira Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences, Patna. I am recipient of honours, distinctions and several gold medals including one for being university topper in PG exam. I have completed 28 years of UG & PG teaching and research in Anatomy during which I have been awarded several prestigious fellowships, honours and accolades. I have published 157 journal articles and contributed 10 book chapters. I have acted as PI & Co-PI for several extramurally funded research projects and guided many PG and PhD students till date. I am Officer In Charge of MEU and Chairman, Curriculum Committee of IGIMS, Patna. I have completed my training in rBCW & AETCOM, CISP-I & II (from SAIMS, Indore), ACME (from PSMC, Karamsad) and participated in few workshops in Medical Education abroad. I am regularly working as NMC Observer for rBCW in various medical colleges in India. I am resource faculty of our MEU and have conducted many in-house workshops (rBCW & CISP). However, our institute has been declared as Regional Centre for MET by NMC of late. As a passionate academician, I always feel to upgrade and update my teaching style particularly in view of the changing scenario of UG teaching after implementation of CBME. As a dedicated medical educationalist I have felt the need to have a holistic and extensive training in medical education and research and the need has been felt more after going through to ACME at PSMC, Karamsad. I am extremely fortunate to get selected for FAIMER fellowship programme at CMCL as it will help me improve myself as a medical educationist and a researcher and beget competent Indian Medical Graduates proficient in all three domains of learning in the benefit of the society at large.

Piyali Das

(MBBS, MD, DNB, PhD, ACME) Heartiest greetings to all. I am Dr. Piyali Das, presently posted as Professor, Physiology, as well as the coordinator of Medical Education Unit at Institute of Post Graduate Medical Education & Research, Kolkata. I did my MBBS from Nil Ratan Sircar Medical College, Kolkata and MD from Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences , Maharashtra. I achieved the University Gold Medal and Vice Chancellor’s certificate of merit for standing first in MD physiology at Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, Nashik. I have done DNB, Physiology from National Board, New Delhi and PhD from West Bengal University of Health sciences, Kolkata. I have done RBCW from KGMU, Lucknow, then Advanced Course of Medical Education from CMC, Ludhiana in 2019B batch. I  have a keen interest in Neurophysiology and Educational Research. It’s a great honor for me that I got selected to undergo FAIMER fellowship at one of the premier most Institutes for Medical Education in the country, CMC, Ludhiana, which I ever dreamt of. Along with a sound teaching acumen. I wish to gather proper leadership quality, administrative skill and competency to carry out educational research through this FAIMER fellowship. The fellowship will also provide a wonderful opportunity to get introduced to Medical Educators all over the country which will smoothen my future journey through Medical Education.



Piyush Jain

I am Dr Piyush Jain presently working as Professor of Medicine at Atal Bihari Vajpayee Institute of Medical Sciences & Dr Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital, New Delhi. I did my graduation and post-graduation from the prestigious University College of Medical Sciences, Delhi (University of Delhi). I was awarded the Dr Madhu Saxena Award for best outgoing postgraduate in Medicine for the year 2010. I was awarded an ICMR travel fellowship for my research presentation at the Annual conference of European Society of Hypertension in Milan, Italy.  I have keen interest in clinical medicine and Rheumatology. I am a member of the editorial board for the Indian Journal of Medical Sciences. I am Finance Secretary in the Board of Management of Delhi Diabetic Forum.  I am a member of the Academic Program Committee of GGSIPU. It’s my passion to teach medicine and I have been teaching medical students since my residency days and. I believe good medical teaching prepares better doctors and good doctors helps in building a healthy nation. I am privileged to be a FAIMER fellow and look forward to develop leadership qualities, build personality and improve upon my teaching skills.




Nageswara Rao. V

I am Dr Nageswara Rao. V presently working as Professor in the Department of Orthopaedics in GSL Medical College, Rajahmundry, Andhra Pradesh. I hold the position of chief of second unit and senior consultant in GSL Swatantra Hospitals affiliated to GSL group of institutions. I completed my MBBS from Kurnool Medical College, Andhra Pradesh and DNB in Orthopaedics from GSL Swatantra Hospitals, Rajahmundry. I have completed Fellowship in Joint Replacement Surgery (FJRS) from Sunshine Hospitals, Secunderabad. I am a member of Medical Education Unit, Curriculum committee and Alignment and Integration Committee in my institution. I am incharge of undergraduate and post graduate academics in the department. I have undergone training in RBMET, AETCOM, CISP-II and Basic Course in Biomedical Research (BCBR). I did ACME from St. John’s Medical College, Bangalore (2020B batch) and received the Best poster award for my project presentation. I am a resource faculty in RBMET and CISP workshops conducted by our MEU. I am a guide to MD students and PhD scholars. I am a member of Indian Orthopaedic Association, Orthopaedic Surgeons Society of Andhra Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh Medical Educators Association and Indian Medical Association. I am passionate towards teaching and learning. I am very passionate about teaching and learning. During RBMET training, I got motivated to pursue ACME and FAIMER. I hope to learn in depth about the concepts related to Medical education. I am aware that these form the foundation for me to be a change agent in true sense. I am also aware that much about medical education remains unexplored by me and FAIMER is one such programs which can help me build my potential and facilitate the change currently happening in medical education, the system of teaching and the system of learning

Komal Maheshwari

I am Dr. Komal Maheshwari, presently working as Professor in the Department of Prosthodontics at ESIC Dental College and Hospital, Delhi. I completed my graduation and post-graduation from Government Dental College and Hospital, Ahmedabad. I have been working in the present institution since last 10 years and prior to this I have worked as Senior Resident and Senior Research Associate at Maulana Azad Institute of Dental Sciences, New Delhi. Being an academician for more than 14 years  has instilled in me a passion and desire to learn, explore and advance in the area of dental education with an overall idea of individual growth, growth of future dental professionals and benefit of the community at core. My commitment and dedication towards my profession and student learning motivated me to apply for the prestigious FAIMER fellowship program. I am privileged to be selected as a fellow for the distinguished CMCL-FAIMER fellowship program 2022 and I am glad to be a part of the CMCL-FAIMER family. I am looking forward for an exciting, enriching and interactive learning experience in the coming years from the experienced faculty members and build network and long-lasting bonds with other health professionals. Latika Nath Sinha      


Assistant  Professor, Department of Community Medicine, Government Medical College, Pali , Rajasthan. As a Public Health specialist and a pediatrician, I am passionate about public health programmes with special interests in maternal and child health .  I did my undergraduation from Maulana Azad Medical College (Delhi) , followed by DCH (Diploma in Child Health) from Safdarjung hospital (Delhi) ,MPH( Master of Public Health ) from the National Institute of Epidemiology (Chennai) and MD Community Medicine  from Santosh University(Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh). After the initial two years of clinical practice, I served as a Surveillance Medical officer and coordinated activities at both district and state levels in a WHO-Government of India collaborative programme (National Polio Surveillance Programme ) for a decade. I worked thereafter in projects dedicated to Family Planning, Maternal and Child Health, Communicable and Noncommunicable diseases including coordinating various health research projects  on the use of Mobile technology in revolutionizing Health care and Disease Management. I am an active  member of the  Institutional Research committee , the foundation course / AETCOM committee,the Anti ragging committee and Cultural cum literary committee of our college. After pursuing the NMC prescribed  CISP and revised basic courses I became interested in  pursuing an advanced course in Medical Education and Research inspired by other FAIMER fellow faculty of our Institute and neighboring AIIMS Jodhpur. Being a lifelong learner it is an honour and privilege to be selected for this prestigious fellowship and be a part of this accomplished group of high achievers.

Farah Khaliq

 I am Farah Khaliq presently working as Director Professor, Physiology at University College of Medical Sciences, Delhi University, Delhi. I did my MBBS from GMC, Bhopal, MD from J. N. Medical College, AMU, Aligarh and worked as Senior Resident at JIPMER, Pondicherry. I did Ph.D. from Delhi University while working as a faculty at UCMS. I am presently an Associate editor of the Indian Journal of Physiology and Pharmacology, have many publications in national and international journals and co-authored books. I have been awarded twice for my research work including Prof RC Shukla oration award for best research work in cardiovascular physiology. Presently I am a member of the Institutes Ethics Committee Human research, UCMS, Delhi, Courses committee and departmental research committee at Faculty of Medical Sciences, Delhi University, member of the board of studies and panel of experts at various medical colleges. I am a resource person for NBE and ICMR, a reviewer of teaching-learning modules, projects, and national and international journals.  My first exposure to medical education was the National teachers training course on Education Science technology at MAMC, New Delhi. Subsequently, I attended various workshops/ courses on medical education technology. I believe that as teachers, we need to propose new paradigms in education and share resources for better teaching performance. I have always enjoyed teaching and experimented with newer teaching styles and evaluation methods. Through this fellowship, I am sure to get new insights and perspectives into medical education and build networks with experts in the field. I feel privileged to be part of the FAIMER 2022 batch.

 Ashok K. Sharma

I am Dr. Ashok K. Sharma presently working as Professor Upgraded Department of Ophthalmology GMC, Jammu. I did my MBBS from Govt. Medical College, Jammu, Diploma in Basic Science Assessment Test from Cambridge UK, DNB Ophthalmology from National Board of Examination, New Delhi and MCh Ophthalmology from University of Seychelles American Institute of Medicine. I am currently Incharge Academics,Coordinator Medical Education Unit (MEU), Member Board of Studies University of Jammu, Nodal Officer DNB, Undergraduate and Postgraduate examiner & Paper Setter for various Universities and Incharge Skill Lab. I joined MEU in 2016 as MEU Coordinator and did my Advance Course in Medical Education (ACME) from CMC Ludhiana (2018 A Batch). I am actively involved in Academic activities of the Department. My specific objective from the course is to learn, share and contribute to the future of Medical Education and Transform Learning into objectives. I am looking forward to FAIMER in helping me to achieve my objective.

Archana Chauhan

I was introduced to the realm of Medical Education via the Revised Basic Workshop in the year 2017. During the workshop, I became intrigued with this field and decided to explore it further. To this end, I completed an Advanced Course of Medical Education (ACME) at Smt NHLMMC Ahmedabad (2020B Batch).  Over the course of one year at ACME, I not only learned more about various educational topics, but also evolved as a student and teacher. Now, I am more keenly aware of my responsibility to students’ learning and I strive to be proficient in it. Training in basic and advanced medical education technologies has strengthened my ability to lead several teacher training and student workshops. Physiology is my subject expertise with over 13 years of teaching experience. Presently, I am an Associate Professor at the Dr Yashwant Singh Parmar Government Medical College, Nahan. Majority of my studies and research have been devoted to improving teaching methods for MBBS students. It was my innovative research work during ACME based on cognitive-conflict strategy that won me the ‘Best poster’ award. In addition to being a first year Academic Co-ordinator, I am member of various academic committees in the institute that looks into the creation and standardization of educational resources for those who teach not just medical students, but also health professionals. I am a member of the Academy of Health Professions Educators (AHPE) and the Association for Medical Education in Europe (AMEE). I am very honored to be part of the FAIMER family, where I will have the opportunity to hone my skills as a medical educator, manager, researcher, and leader under the guidance of learned faculty members of CMCL and FAIMER fellows. I intend to actively contribute to the medical education field through my institute, FAIMER, and all other avenues.


Anupinder Thind

I am Dr Anupinder Thind, Assistant Professor in the Department of Physiology from Government Medical College and Rajindra Hospital, Patiala, Punjab. I completed my MBBS from GGSMC Faridkot in 2005 and received my MD in Physiology from GMC Patiala in 2011. I was driven towards medical education  as teaching is my passion and there is always a pang of hunger in me to improve my teaching technique to help my medical students to attain their maximum potential. I became a member of the medical education unit in 2015 and since then being a part of faculty development programs was a part of my entity. In 2015 I also authored the book, ‘First Year MBBS unsolved’ and to date I have released its  4 editions. I have also contributed to  MCQ books and text books for medical and para-medical students. I joined my Advanced Course in Medical Education (ACME) in 2016 which further polished me as a facilitator. Since then I am a constant resource faculty in revised basic course workshops in my institute and since implementation of CBME curriculum I have been given the responsibility of Coordinator of Foundation course. FAIMER fellowship gives me a platform to further enhance my skills in teaching and assessment  to fulfill my life goal of helping medical students  to achieve excellence in practicing their skills and desire to learn so that they become virtuous physicians.

Ashwin Kulkarni

I am Dr Ashwin Kulkarni, presently working as an Associate Professor in the Department of General Medicine, M.S.Ramaiah Medical College, Bangalore, Karnataka. I have done my MBBS from Mysore Medical College, Mysore and MD- General Medicine from SCB Medical College, Cuttack, Odisha. I have been working in my current institution since 2013. I have joined MEC in the year 2017. I have completed Basic MET workshop and CISP workshop. I have participated in workshops related to PBL and Simulated Teaching. I am involved in conduction of integrated teaching, Simulated teaching and PBL at our institute. I am involved in clinical research activities at our institute like BIRAC- Mission COVID suraksha Project, Covid vaccine trials etc. I always felt teaching is one of the important roles of a Doctor. I have always been interested in teaching  since I was a postgraduate student. I am very privileged to be a part of FAIMER-CMCL. I look forward to upgrading myself and learning more from this programme. I would like to improve myself and inculcate better medical education skills and implement newer methods of teaching-learning at my institute.
